In the mid-40's, Nat founded his own publishing company, Tannen Music. He started traveling to Nashville, Wheeling West Virginia, and Cincinnati and picked up many great country classics, including the often recorded standard, "Mountain Dew". He was one of the first New York publishers to frequent Nashville and became a well liked and trusted friend of many songwriters. Tannen Music incorporated in 1944 and affiliated with BMI . |
